Music Biography

Tom is a classically trained Jazz musician, having started playing the piano at the age of 6. Achieving ABRSM Grade 8 standard in 2012, Tom went on to attend University of Hull, studying Jazz and Popular Music between September 2012 and July 2015.

During his studies, Tom successfully auditioned for numerous music projects, including Hull University Big Band Society, The Jazz Aesthetic (under Dr. Peter Elsdon). He also studied under Grammy Award winning pianist Bill Laurance, and himself won two awards: The Sir Thomas Beecham Music Scholarship in March 2013, and Mike Somerton Award for Jazz Performance in July 2015.

Tom graduated with a First-Class Honours in July 2015, launching his career as a freelance musician for hire.

Tom specialised in Contemporary Jazz and Jazz Fusion for multiple recitals during his studies, his final recital showcased below.

Tom regularly works as a dep musician for multiple function bands, including Vibetown, The Beat Collective and The White Keys.

Tom frequently performs at festivals and theatres with a number of tribute artists, including The Ragdolls and Frankie's Guys.


Bespoke Band Formation

Tom has launched a number of successful musical outfits available for hire.

FOUROVERTHREE, a Jazz group has performed at a number of events across the UK, including university graduations, private functions and more.

He has also formed multiple party bands to perform at weddings and corporate functions, a sample of which can be played below.
